For instance:
You arrive on Friday June 15 and leave on Sunday June 17 and you take a single room for yourself: food 1280 SEK + room 1480 SEK = 2760 SEK = ± 332 Euro

TRANSPORT:

Book your flight to Stockholm Arlanda airport.
You have two options for getting at Stockholm central railway station:
– “Flygbussarna” (airport coaches) for 99 SEK. Leaving every 10 minutes.
– “Arlanda Express train” for 260 SEK. Leaving every 15 minutes. Duration 20 minutes.

From Stockholm Central Railway station it is a 5 minutes walk to the Underground “Tunnelbana”. Take a Tunnelbana train in the Red Line nr 13 to Ropsten. Travel to the end station. At Ropsten you should catch bus no 201 which leaves every 20 minutes. Your ticket from the Underground is also valid in bus nr 201. Leave the bus at a stop called “Folkhögskolan”. From here you will see Lidingö folk high school on a distance of a 100 m walk.

The total journey after landing at Arlanda (walking to Express train or airport coach, waiting time, travel to central station, walking to Tunnelbana, travel to Ropsten, catching bus/waiting time, travel to Lidingö) may take at least 90 minutes.

The fare for the underground and the bus is cheaper if you buy a green-white ticket called
“Förköpsremsa” at 200 SEK. This will offer you 8 one-way trips from the central railway station to Lidingö Folk High School. On Saturday we will travel from Lidingö to Stockholm to do two seminars. Therefore you could all use a “Förköpsremsa”.
It is also possible to purchase an individual 24 hour card at 115 SEK or an individual 72 hour card at 230 SEK, that are valid for the Underground and buses. However, “Förköpsremsa” will be cheaper, and it also is not individual but can be shared.

Boat trip in the Stockholm Archipelago

Waxholm Boats is the largest passenger boat company in Stockholm. They offer a trip on board a ferry called Storskär from Stockholm, Strömkajen at Grand Hotel to Waxholm and back. It is a three hour trip starting at 16.45. We ought to be at the ferry by quarter past four pm. Tickets are bought on board. A return ticket with Storskär is 150 SEK ca 17 €. On board one may book a table for dinner – if so we need to book immediately – or we may just have a sandwich with coffee, tea or a beer. A dinner on board is very popular and it has to be booked at least one week ahead. The cost of a dinner is: A steak is 230 SEK, fish 235 lamb 240 SEK.

We suggest to have a sandwich only.

Regarding your luggage: if you want to participate in the boat trip, the best thing is to put your luggage in a locker at Stockholm Central Station when you arrive from Lidingö. The boat will be back on the quay at 20.00 H. From there it is 15 minutes walking to Stockholm Central Station.

If you are interested: react immediately now! The booking will be done on Tuesday June 12th.
